I hope your week has been flying by, because the weekend is only a day away. Sorry to leave you hanging yesterday, but I had some important things to tend to, like sitting on the beach all day. Seriously though, I just haven’t taken many pictures of my meals so I figured I wouldn’t bore you with recycled photos.
1.I am super lucky. Why, you may ask? Because I got to hang with these 2 goobers the other night, as we walked around Seaside, Fl. Jealous, right?
2.Y’all, I for real do love the beach, but yesterday, I think I hit my limit. I was so antsy and so bored! I even have gobs of magazines and a great book to read. I don’t know what the deal was. I was just SO over sitting in a chair on the beach for hours.
3.John and I were supposed to leave today, but he decided to play hookie from work tomorrow, so now we’re not leaving until Friday! Yay!!! Although, considering what I said above ^^ it probably doesn’t make sense why I’d be excited to stay another day. I got over my bad attitude about sitting on the beach in like 2.8 minutes – or a bit longer. 😉
4.I hate crabs. ‘Nuf said.
5.Soooo, I got really burned. Like I look like a lobster and my skin hurts – every.time.I.move. I don’t know how this happens (what seems like) every year! I do such a good job putting sunscreen on the first handful of days that we’re here, but then somewhere along the way I get lax. Yesterday, it was very cloudy and drizzly in the early morning hours, so when we headed out to the beach around 10am, it was still pretty cloudy. I guess I didn’t apply enough sunscreen and definitely forgot to RE-apply when it got sunny. So, I not look like the resident lobster. #fail.
6.Last night, John and I were ready to get out of the house for a bit, so we went to Seaside, a cute little community about 10 minutes from where we’re staying. Every Wednesday night they have a band that comes to play in the mini amphitheater that is in the middle of all the shops and restaurants – it’s seriously the cutest little area. Anyway, there was quite the crowd last night! We enjoyed listening to the band for a bit and people watching. People watching is one of my favorite pastimes.
7.As you know, I’m taking a break from exercise and trying to put on a few lbs. I’m not going to lie. This week has been a struggle. First, being in a bathing suit, no matter how big or little you are, can be difficult. Add to that the fact that you are actively trying to put on weight, AND not do too much activity = difficult for someone overcoming an eating disorder. I know that it’s in my best interest not to go on super long walks, play intense games of ultimate frisbee on the beach, and the like. BUT, it’s so hard for me to just sit at times. In my twisted ED mind, I feel like I’ve got to always be moving, going, and doing. Needless to say, this week has been a challenge in a whole new way. I know you probably don’t understand, and never truly will unless you’ve had an eating disorder. I’m just keeping it real, and being honest.
8.So this house where we’re staying doesn’t have any other type of bowls other than soup bows. You know the kind…very shallow and with a big, wide rim? Not very conducive to eating oatmeal or cereal from. Therefore, I’ve eaten my breakfast from a measuring cup most mornings. Hey, whatever works, right?
9.John and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday night. I just love going to weddings with my sweet hubby. They always make me think back to our wedding day. What a wonderful day it was!
10.If you’re interested (let me know!) I’m planning on posting soon about how the whole “exercise break + adding calories” thing is going from a physical, mental, and spiritual side.
I’m now going to go lather myself up in sunscreen and park myself under an umbrella. Boo.
1. When’s the last time you got REALLY sunburned?
2. What’s a difficulty you’re going through/have been through? How did you cope?
3. Your turn – what’s a thought you want to share!
