Happy Friday, friends!
I’ve seen a few bloggers doing these “currently” posts recently, and they looked like fun, so I thought I’d join in on the fun.
Oops. I’ve been pretty bad about reading lately. Which is strange because when I was younger, I used to read all.the.time. Like my parents would tell me to stop spending money on books. I have been reading school curriculum books, does that count? A book I’ve read a chapter or 2 of that I need to get back into is One Thousand Gifts.
Current TV Show
Fixer Upper! My mom turned me onto this show and I have to say, I’m obsessed. I have at least 6 recorded on my DVR. I believe the season is over, but they’re replayed on HGTV all the time. The premise of the show: An adorable couple, Chip and Joanne Gaines (who have 4 children) help families find a home that needs a little TLC. Then, they renovate the home for the family. The show follows the entire house hunting and renovation process. I absolutely love the Gaines’s style. If you catch it on TV, you’ve gotta give it a try!
I’m not excited about being in the car, yet again (I feel like my summer has consisted of being in the car!), I AM excited to drive to my parents house tonight to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday with all of my extended family. While we’ll be in the car longer than we’ll actually be at the birthday party, I know how much it will mean to my grandmother for us to be there.
Current Nail Color
Ehhh…au natural. I’m trying to hold out until the beginning of school. I know I’ll want a nice pedicure for that first week. I suppose I could just paint my own, which may happen soon. I’ve just been too lazy!
Barre3!! I’ve still been loving getting in a Barre3 routine almost daily. I originally purchased a 1 month subscription, just to see how I’d like it and if I’d actually use the online workouts. Needless to say, I’m fairly certain I’ll be purchasing a longer membership when my month is up. The workouts have been leaving me with the best kind of soreness. I love when I can feel that my muscles have really been working. The best part about Barre3 is that it’s low impact and low intensity, so I get in a great workout without burning boatloads of calories (<— I’m taking a break from intense exercise). Besides, exercise is about getting fit and staying healthy NOT burning calories, right?!
Current Bane of My Existence
I’m going to second Ashley on this one and say HUMIDITY. It’s bad, y’all. I walk outside and it feels like need to swim through the air to get to the car. Yesterday, I went on a walk, and I’m pretty sure I was sweating after the first 20 steps. I do love summertime, but, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to the lower humidity that fall brings. Not to mention, the humidity doesn’t do much to encourage a good hair day. 😉
This. Yum!!!! Are you bored with seeing this breakfast? So good, I just can’t give it up yet!
H2O. I love adding a pack of Crystal Light drink mix into my water. I know, I know…it’d be better to drink plain water, but this really helps me drink a lot more. I suppose I could try the lemon/lime/fruit infused route. Heather recently posted about the importance of properly hydrating ourselves.
The guys at John’s office requested some sugary goodness to snack on. Well, i absolutely love this yogurt cake, that is actually pretty low on sugar and filled with good-for-you ingredients like fresh fruit and greek yogurt. It’s absolutely delicious!
Honestly, shorts and t-shirts. In a week, I’ll be back to dressing up daily for work, so you’d better believe I’m living it up in my comfy casual clothes as much as possible! While I love new clothes, dressing cute, and adorable outfits as much as the next girl, there’s plenty of that coming soon.
I was looking through old photos on my computer the other day to find a picture my mom had asked for. As I was looking I came across this picture from the summer after John and I began dating. I noticed 2 things. 1. We were such babies! 2. I need that tan back!
This weekend, John is playing in a tennis tournament, so I’ll be playing cheerleader and “soccer” mom. I’m also hoping I can convince him to do a little back to school shopping with me.
Have a great weekend!!
