Happy, Happy Friday! I tell ya, it’s a good thing summer is nearing because I do believe I’m more exhausted each and every Friday. Sheesh!
Oh, and how in the world is it MAY already?! Crazy how fast the first few months of the year have flown by! Bring on summer!
After work today I’m hoping to treat myself to a pedicure, leftovers for dinner, and an early bedtime. Let’s hope the hubs is on board with my plan. As for the rest of the weekend…there’s likely to be some yard work, a few errands, the weekly grocery trip, and a trip to my parent’s house to help out with a wedding shower my mom is throwing for a friend’s daughter. And I’m planning on sprinkling plenty of rest in throughout all the activity.
Once again, I’d love to share some of my favorite moments and things from the past week. I love reading these types of posts on other blogs. I typically get to learn a bit about some of my favorite bloggers and find out about so many interesting new products I’d probably otherwise never stubble across. Hopefully my little post will provide you with some of the same!
I can’t not mention all the sweet, encouraging, empathetic, and uplifting comments from so many of you on Tuesday’s post! I was overwhelmed by your kindness and encouragement.
While it was a very challenging post to publish, it’s a topic I want to be vulnerable about. It’s often easy to only share the good, positive, happy things on the blog. And there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, I want my blog to be a positive, happy place. However, I think it’s also important to share the real, raw moments, too. Because that’s also part of life, and if my story can help even one person, I want to share that.
So again, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.
John and I celebrated our 5 year engagement anniversary on Thursday. While it’s not something we necessarily celebrate with gifts or meals or anything like that, it was a very special day that I like to remember.
What a fun day it was! I was so surprised when het got down on one knee!
Cranberry Kale Turkey Burgers
We tried this new-to-us recipe on Thursday night. While the flavors sounded delicious to me, I was a little unsure about how the chewy texture of the craisins would go with the meat texture of the rest of the turkey burger.
Well, I had nothing to worry about! It scrumptious! I served the burgers alongside (unpictured) roasted sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli. Yum!
Homemade Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies
True story: I have the chocolate chip cookie recipe memorized from the back of the Nestle Tollhouse bag of chocolate chips. When we were growing up, my cousin and I used to play “cooking show” and make these all.the.time.
I’m pretty sure I could make these babies in my sleep. I’ve yet to find a recipe that I like better. I whipped up a batch of these this week for John to take to work. They’re his favorite, not that I blame him. I’m just a bit upset we don’t have any left.
Permanent Shorts Weather
You guys, I love shorts.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love my leggings too. But shorts are totally where it’s at. I’m so glad it’s finally shorts weather on a consistent basis. I’m sure you’ll hear me complain about how hot it is soon, but for now, I’m loving ever second of the warmth and sunshine.
And with that, I’m off! I hope you have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend! Get some rest and have some fun!
1. Do you have any recipes memorized? More than I’d like to admit…
2. Is it shorts-weather where you live?
3. What’s on the agenda for YOU this weekend?
