Good Monday morning! How was your weekend? If it was anything like mine, it was fast!
I’m just popping in quickly this morning to share a bit about my weekend. This past weekend was my sister, Kathryn’s, bachelorette weekend. It was truly a wonderful weekend celebrating the bride-to-be! I plan to share a full recap of the weekend tomorrow, so be sure to stop back by.
But until then, here’s an abbreviated version…
7 out of 9 of Kathryn’s bridesmaids were able to attend. Her bridesmaids are a mix of college sorority friends, friends from her college of education cohort (20 students who spend the last 2 years of their college career in all the same classes), friends from post-college, as well as my other sister Anna and me. It was a great opportunity for us to get to know one another and enjoy some quality girl time.
We had quite a few hilarious mis-haps that I’ll be sure to share with you tomorrow!
As I mentioned Friday, I decided to take a personal day off of work on Friday in order to finish up some last minute baking and crafting, get everything together, and get to the site of the bachelorette party in time to decorate and get things all ready for the bride to arrive.
I am so thankful that I took off from work – I was busy doing things all day! I don’t know how I would’ve managed had I worked from 7:30-3:30! Anna, my other sister who is a sophomore in college, drove to my house after her Friday classes to help me. We then drove to the lake house where we would spend our weekend.
Waiting for the bride to arrive!
Once everyone arrived on Friday night, we went out on the town for dinner and some post-dinner fun! I didn’t get in bed until after 2am Saturday morning. I cannot tell you the last time this grandma saw that hour.
Saturday morning began with a delicious breakfast of sausage balls, Cinnabon cinnamon rolls, a yogurt “bar.”
We spent the rest of the rainy day hanging out – watching movies, chatting about everything under the sun, playing a few bachelorette party games, hosting Kathryn’s lingerie shower, and having dinner in.
Sunday morning began with another delicious breakfast. As the oldest in the group, the matron of honor, and hostess I took on cleaning up the house, gathering up all the leftovers, getting all of our things together, etc. It’s unbelievable the damage 8 girls can do to a house in 1 weekend!
Following lunch, Anna and I packed up and headed back to my house. She left to head back to college, and I was able to spend some much needed time with John.
We menu planned, cleaned up the house, made a trip to the grocery store, and prepped food for the week. I also watched a bit of the Oscars Red Carpet. I just love watching red carpet fashion.
As I type this up on Sunday evening, I’m hoping for an early bedtime and a busy, yet productive, Monday.
Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for a complete recap and all the details of the Kathryn’s Bachelorette Weekend.
