Good Monday morning to you! How was your weekend? It was a great one around here. And the weather was absolutely gorgeous all weekend. And it’s supposed to continue all week. I think the warmth is finally here to stay.
This weekend brought an impromptu unplanned trip home to my parent’s house for the night on Saturday. It was a fun time and I’m glad we ended up going.
My mom hosted a wedding shower at her home yesterday afternoon. Since I was planning to drive up on Sunday for the shower, we decided to go ahead and go up on Saturday and make a trip out of it. I’m so glad we did because it was so fun!
Before we packed up and headed to my parent’s house Saturday, we ventured out to City Fest. It’s a fun event held every spring in historic downtown Prattville. There is lots of good food, tons of vendors set up that sell all kinds of things, and lots of fun events for kids. It’s always a fun time, so we’d been looking forward to checking it out. It did not disappoint!

After packing and driving north to my parent’s house, I helped my mom decorate and cook for the shower.
Saturday night, my dad and brother planned to purchase the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. A bunch of my brother’s friends came over to watch, too. While fighting isn’t my thing, I must admit it was really interesting to watch. Did any of you guys catch the fight?
Sunday morning I awoke to help my mom finish up some last minute wedding tea preparations. Since the tea was at 2pm, and we wouldn’t get home from church until 12pm, everything needed to be ready to go. I made a few corsages for the bride and mothers of the bride and groom.
I must admit that I was quite pleased with how they turned out!
The wedding tea was a success!
And it was such a treat hanging out with my mom and sisters over the weekend, preparing for the tea and getting everything ready.
When the tea was over and everyone left, we cleaned up and got ready to head home. However, before we left, the boys (who’d gone to grab lunch during the tea) got a game of basketball going.
I couldn’t resist jumping into the game, too. As it turns out, I’ve still got it because I beat them all. Even my baby brother who is turning into a giant!
Maybe next time he’ll beat his big sister.
We finally headed out and arrived back home around 7pm. After unpacking and prepping lunches for today John and I settled on the couch with leftovers to watch Secretes and Lies. Oh.My.Gosh! Do any of you watch? It always keeps me guessing, but last night really threw me! I couldn’t get over it!
Today, I’m off to a busy day of work, followed by a grocery trip and hopefully a short barre workout.
1. What did you do over the weekend?
2. Did you watch the Kentucky Derby or Mayweather/Pacquiao fight?
3. Do you have anything fun coming up this week? It’s a busy one over here, but just regular, everyday stuff…nothing out of the ordinary!
