Weekend Wrap-Up #18 – MIMM

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are ready for the week ahead. I don’t know about you, but I loved seeing all the photos from Blend 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It looked like an absolute blast and a weekend full of great food, fitness, and friendships. Perhaps next year, I will plan ahead enough and be able to attend. Believe it or not, these ladies are on it, because Blend is already planned for May 15th-17th in Boulder, Co!

Moving right along…

This weekend was a perfect mix of business and some down time. The make up of a pretty perfect weekend in my book!

On Saturday, John and I were up bright and early to drive about 20 minutes away to an outdoor flea market I’ve always heard of. It is only open on the first Saturday of each month, so since we were in town and had no plans, I wanted to go! Before hand, I didn’t know too much about it other than it’s supposedly really big, it’s well known and well attended, and is outdoors.

OH my! Was I in for a surprise! You guys, this thing was massive!

The pictures just don’t even do it justice. There were probably well over 100 vendors set up with everything for sale from hair bows and children’s clothes to plants to auto tires. I’m telling you, you could find whatever you needed.

We didn’t end up buying anything, since we mostly went to check out what all the talk was about, but I think it’s safe to say I’ll definitely be back!

After leaving the flea market we went to lunch at a local restaurant that was right on a river. It was a beautiful lunch view and even better company. Lunch dates are my favorite!

On Saturday night we headed to the local minor league baseball park to meet up with some friends from our Sunday School class. It was a fun night out! (I was having so much fun, I forgot to take pictures!)

Following church on Sunday, I got to work on a project I’ve been wanting to tackle for a while now. We have this chair that has this awful (in my opinion) oriental elephant print all over. I was determined to make a slip cover for it. It’s a great chair, I just hate that print!

I’d bought my materials earlier last week, so I was ready to measure, cut, and get to work.

Can you believe they trust me to teach math to kids?!

I enjoy sewing, and after doing my research, reading a few tutorials, and watching a few YouTube videos I was pretty confident I could do it.

Oops, guess I was a tiny bit off on my measurements. Good thing I bought enough fabric to re-do.

Sunday evening was rounded out with grocery shopping, food prep for the week, and a delicious new recipe that I’m excited to share with you! Here’s a preview –

Seriously, SO good!

This morning, I’m off to a few meetings and will hopefully get my house back in order this afternoon!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

I am probably the opposite of a bargain hunter. I see something I want and I have to have it regardless of price! But the good thing is I don’t shop that often so its rare that I go crazy and buy a lot!

Favorite summer recipe is easily tacos! Yum!

I’ve never heard of Blend before- very neat! I love a good deal, and will seek them out. However, sometimes I can justify an “investment” lol
That dish looks delish! My fave summer recipe is an arugula salad with strawberries, raisins, orange (sometimes), grapes, almonds, feta and whatever vinaigrette- super yummy!

That salad sounds awesome! I’m definitely going to have to recreate that sometime soon.
      I agree – if it’s a good investment, I can justify forking over a little more $$. :-)
